Viral Moment COVID Vaccine Sprays Into The Air As Nurse Jabs Patient

This is the viral moment a patient asks a nurse to re-administer his COVID-19 shot after half of it leaks out while pushing the plunger.

The incident was filmed at a vaccination centre in the Mexican capital Mexico City and was shared on TikTok where it went viral with 2.2 million reactions and 34,000 comments.

According to local media, Mexico has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks and the authorities are ramping up their vaccination drive.

In the footage, a young man is seen receiving his jab from a female nurse.

While filming it he captured the moment a large part of the syringe contents sprays into the air as the nurse pushes the plunger, with several drops also then dropping towards the floor, something which the young man noticed as well.

The patient says to the nurse: “About half leaked out there right.”

The young nurse tries to reassure him by saying: “It’s all right.”

However, the young man insists on the full dose and the nurse reluctantly agrees.

After the footage went viral on social media, netizens began to criticise the nurse, however, the man jumped to her defence and pointed out that healthcare workers have been very busy during the vaccine rollout.

He also explained why he shared the video: “I just thought that everything that happened was funny. In the end, they gave me another dose.”

In recent days, Mexico has named Sinaloa State as the country’s maximum risk region and named 14 other states as being at high risk.

Only three regions are rated ‘green’ on the epidemiological traffic light system.
