This is the viral moment a poor dog rocks on a bed with wide-open eyes while reportedly suffering three epilepsy attacks caused by street fireworks during a Christmas celebration.

The incident was filmed by netizen ‘Ismael’, who lives in the city of Seville in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia, and was later shared on Twitter where it has been viewed 2.3 million times.

The footage shows his dog Niebla shaking on a bed with wide-open eyes as he says: “So everyone can see for themselves, this is what fireworks do. Here you have it, look how nervous the dog is. Look how it behaves. Let’s be more aware of this problem.”

The 28-year-old resident added that the dog suffered three epilepsy attacks during the same day, caused by hours of hearing fireworks being set off on nearby streets.

‘Ismael’ said: “This is what we have to put up with every year. We sometimes put the dog in a dark room and cover its little head. Here you see what fireworks can do to animals.”

Netizen ‘Byemlopez’ commented: “Friend, play some classical music in a closed room and cuddle it until it’s all over. It’s incredible how blind we are as a society.”

‘Ismael’ later posted a message on Twitter thanking everyone for their support and adding that the frightened dog “fell asleep exhausted after cuddling its favourite teddy bear”.

Spanish actor Dani Rovira, 39, also posted a video of his dog shaking at home during a fireworks show while calling on the local authorities to stop using them during town parties.
