The story of the three school friends from the Philippines who shared a common dream of becoming doctors has been shared on Facebook by Ching Macarubbo.

The Facebook post has gone viral with nearly 100,000 ‘likes’, 62,000 shares, and over 13,000 comments.

Macarubbo accompanied the snaps with the message: “I can still vividly remember the day we took the first photo. The foundation of our dreams. Year 2011, the year we graduated high school.”

Macarubbo admitted that their journey together was not planned: “Never have I imagined graduating together again with these two, and we didn’t talk about going to the same school. We just found ourselves applying to the same college.

“We have gone through so much during the years, on the brink of failure, crying ourselves out almost every night, tired and restless especially during our clerkship, but never took quitting as an option.

“Now, nine years from that day, here we are, living our vision. Truly, the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Wouldn’t have survived med school without you two. And of course the support of our dear parents.”

After successfully graduating from medical school together, the trio marked the occasion by posing for a photoshoot.
