This CCTV footage shows a mum violently slapping and kicking the living daylights out of her young son inside a lift for reportedly refusing to come home for supper.

The incident happened in the Hongxi Huating Residential District in the city of Luoding, in South China’s Guangdong Province, on the afternoon of 20th October.

In the distressing video, the boy, who is reportedly around five years old, is seen pushed into the corner of the lift car by his mother, who begins to give him a harsh beating for spending too much time playing with his classmate living in the same building.

The out-of-control parent repeatedly slaps the young boy as he tries to shield himself from the blows, appearing to be crying in terror at his mum’s actions.

The mum-of-two, who neighbours said violently dragged the boy into the lift car in order to take him home, is also seen kicking her son in the midriff before the doors open again and he is forced out.

According to reports, neighbours called the police who arrived to question the mum and the boy, who also has a younger sister.

She is said to have “expressed regret” for her actions, with her husband explaining to the police that the boy had fought his mum moments earlier, cutting her lip and breaking one of her nails.

It is unclear whether the authorities will press charges on behalf of the child and they were still looking into the case at the time of writing.
