Vienna’s Islamic cemetery has reportedly refused to bury the 20-year-old terrorist who killed four innocent people during the city shooting attack earlier this month.

The Islamic cemetery, located in Vienna’s district of Liesing, announced the decision on 11th November after Muslim groups expressed their fury over the attack, saying they “do not want to be buried alongside a murderer”.

Cemetery administrator Ali Ibrahim said in a statement to local media: “He is a murderer who killed innocent people and thereby harmed all Muslims.

“Allah will settle accounts with him, but we also had the feeling that we had to do something”, adding that the decision is strongly supported by the community.

When and where the terrorist will be buried is currently unknown, with several alternatives being speculated, such as Austria’s other Islamic cemetery in Vorarlberg or North Macedonia where the deceased killer grew up.

Gunman Kujtim Fejzulai, 20, terrorised the city of Vienna on 2nd November armed with a rifle, injuring 22 people and killing four during his rampage that ended when he was shot dead by police minutes later.
