These gruesome pictures show the inside of a filthy cockroach-infested tofu factory in Malaysia which has has been shut for violating health and safety rules.

Officials from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) in the Malaysian capital of the same name closed the factory, located in the area of Jalan Pudu Ulu Cheras, closed the business on 15th June.

The tofu processing factory was closed for violating health and safety regulations, and a DBKL inspector said the conditions have turned him off ever eating tofu again, according to local media.

The unnamed official said: “I could not help myself, I almost threw up.

“It was so disgusting and I felt queasy throughout the time I was there.”

According to reports, the local authorities received a tip-off from a member of the public, and carried out a raid on the factory.

Officials said the place was littered with rodent droppings and infested with cockroaches.

They also said, based on evidence at the scene, that workers prepared the tofu on the floor as traces could be found all over.

Meanwhile, workers were not wearing face coverings or gloves while many of them carried out their duties topless, according to local media.

The factory has been closed for 14 days as the investigation continues.
