This is the moment a mum saves her two young children from a van crash as they cross the road.

The mother and her youngsters – one of them in a baby buggy – had stepped into the road in Buca, Izmir province, Turkey, when they were hit almost immediately.

But CCTV footage of the smash shows how the entire family walked away virtually without a scratch after the mother took the brunt of the impact.

The mother and her daughter are seen being thrown up onto the silver van’s bonnet.

Meanwhile, a toddler’s baby buggy takes a glancing blow and is catapulted out of harm’s way.

As the mum and daughter get to their feet, a witness waiting on a motorcycle rushes over to pick up the toddler.

According to local media, the family suffered minor injuries in the incident and were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.

Biker Ferit Solgun said: “When I went into town to buy meat for my shop, I heard a screech and a thud. When I turned around, I saw a woman and her children hit by a car.

“The mother fell on the road, her children were knocked over too.

“As I am a father too, my eyes first saw the children. I immediately took the baby in my arms and checked if it was injured. I checked to see if there was a fracture or dislocation.

“Meanwhile, other witnesses called for an ambulance.

“Thankfully it was nothing serious. One of the passengers in the van was pregnant and she was very shaken up about what happened.”

It is unclear if the police are investigating the incident.
