This Indonesian mega pop star who reportedly lives in the US has sparked fury in her native country after claiming her blood is not from her homeland but from Germany instead.

The gorgeous singer and actress, born Agnes Monica Muljoto, made the revelation during a TV interview with Kevan Kenney where she said: “I actually don’t have Indonesian blood whatsoever. I’m actually German, Japanese and Chinese. I was just born in Indonesia.

The 33-year-old, who recently sang with US star with Chris Brown and attended the American Music Awards on 24th November, added: “I’m also Christian. In Indonesia the majority there are Muslims.”

Mo said: “I’ve always been kind of, you know, like, I’m not gonna say that I’ve felt that I don’t belong there, because I always felt like the people accepted me for who I was, but there’s always that sense of, ‘ugh, I’m not like everybody else’.”

Her comments sparked outrage in Indonesia, with netizen ‘Umaleao’ tweeting: “You’re making money out of your Indonesian songs. None of your English lyrics brings you a penny. Such a shame.”

However, ‘Rioaditomo’ defended her by saying: “Agnez Mo has no native Indonesian blood, fact. Agnez Mo was born and became popular in Indonesia, fact. Agnez Mo is Christian, fact. The gap between minorities and majority in Indonesia, fact. So which part is wrong?”

Meanwhile, the singer took to Instagram where she boasts nearly 20 million followers to defend her comments.

She wrote: “Shame on people who only want to spread hatred by twisting my words and my intention. All I said were good things, that even when I’m a minority, I got to share this amazing diversity that I learned in my country.”

She ended the message with: “My heart is full, no matter what you say.”
