This footage allegedly shows a bus full of people who have been exposed to the novel coronavirus as one of them was later diagnosed with it and cops are now desperately searching for the other passengers.

The video shows more than 30 coach passengers with one woman seated near the front who can be seen coughing into her hand. None of the passengers appear to be wearing masks.

The Hejin City Health Commission, in North China’s Shanxi Province, is now conducting an urgent search for passengers on the vehicle, which it says travelled between the cities of Yuncheng and Hejin on 16th January.

According to a statement by health officials, one passenger on the coach was later diagnosed with the Wuhan coronavirus, which has so far killed 132 and infected around 6,000 people in mainland China.

The individual, who was not identified by the local government, is currently being quarantined and treated at Yuncheng Second People’s Hospital, but all other passengers on the bus are now at risk too.

The statement released on 26th January – a public service announcement for those who may otherwise have been unaware of their exposure – urges the coach passenger to identify themselves with local officials at the earliest possibility.

Health officials asked all those on the same bus to “take responsibility for oneself and others” by staying at home and monitoring their own conditions for symptoms including a fever as well as chronic fatigue and coughing.

They are also to make themselves known to local officials and have their temperatures taken twice a day while isolating themselves for at least 14 consecutive days.

China has put 16 cities and some 50 million people on full lockdown as the Wuhan coronavirus continues to spread through East and Southeast Asia leading the Chinese New Year holiday period to be extended by the authorities as they try to contain the potentially deadly virus.

The large-scale travel ban, which includes all forms of public transport and motorways, is thought to be one of the only effective ways to contain the virus.
