This is the moment a scooter rider survives being hit by a taxi before being run over by an SUV just moments later.
Traffic camera footage from the streets of He County in the city of Ma’anshan, which is in East China’s Anhui Province, shows the female scooter rider travelling the wrong way on the road which she later crosses during a red light.
The video dated 4th October shows the unnamed scooterist cutting across the road without stopping and hit head-on by the approaching taxi.
Her scooter is left flying towards the side of the road, while she is dropped onto the ground and lies injured in the middle of the busy street.
As the taxi and his two passengers leave their car to check on her, a black SUV turns onto the road and drives straight for her as she lies motionless on the ground.
The taxi passenger – a mother with a child – tries to warn the SUV owner, but the motorist nonetheless drives right over the crashed scooter victim, pinning her under his car.
Fortunately, the woman was rescued by a group of around a dozen passers-by who arrived to lift the SUV and pull her out.
Local authorities said she was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The accidents are still being investigated, with no charges brought to any of the individual involved at the time of writing.
