This is the moment a plucky judo practitioner detains a thief in a neck lock while a cop cuffs his wrists after reportedly chasing the man when he stole her phone and tackling him to the ground.

The judoka, name not reported, was filmed detaining the suspected thief on the ground in the city of Manaus, in the Brazilian state of Amazonas, on 25th March.

According to local reports, the suspect snatched the woman’s phone while she was waiting for a rideshare cab.

After grabbing the victim’s phone, the thief legged it down the street and the plucky young woman gave chase and caught him.

The woman, who practises judo, was able to detain the suspect on the ground with a rear naked choke, according to local media.

The woman held the suspect at the scene until the cops arrived to take him to the police station.

In the video, the young have-a-go hero is seen sitting calmly on the ground while holding the topless suspect in a neck lock.

The suspect is then handcuffed and the woman shoves him away from her in disgust and gets to her feet as onlookers clap and cheer.

An onlooker apparently kicks the suspect as he lies on his front on the tarmac.
