UNDERWATER CITY: Local Emergency Services Evaluate Damages Caused By Flooding In Southern California

Fire officials from the city of Hollister, California, requested assistance from the Hollister Police Drone Team to help evaluate the extensiveness of the flood in the Lovers Lane area, which is apparently the most affected.

Aerial footage captured by the police drones shows the vast damage created by the flooding, showcasing the devastating aftermath left by a powerful storm.

The Hollister Police Department warned residents and neighbouring county residents of additional rain in the upcoming forecasts as of 12th January.

Additional flooding is very likely, the police stated.

The Red Cross is currently managing all evacuations in the city.

Police have asked residents who have medically dependent power equipment and are experiencing extended power outages to call the San Benito County Office of Emergency Services for assistance.

The Hollister Police Department thanked the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, Hollister Fire Department, San Benito Office of Emergency Services, Santa Cruz Regional 911, San Benito County Search and Rescue, Hollister Public Works, PG&E and San Benito County Public Works for all their continued hard work in dealing with the devastation in the county.
