The 51-year-old woman, identified as A. Tju, was jogging in the city of Batam in the south-western Indonesia province of Riau Islands at around 5.30am when the incident took place.
A woman driver identified by her initials F.V. lost control of her car and hit the central reservation, which lifted the vehicle from the ground.
The car hit the jogger’s top half before crashing into a tree, according to reports.
The local police said the vehicle belongs to F.V.’s 26-year-old friend identified as S.L.
The two women stayed at a friend’s house the night before and F.V. was driving the car home because the owner was feeling tired, according to the police.
