A law student at Lancaster University has made her flight back to Britain after a kindhearted taxi driver in Dubai found her purse containing her UK student visa and tracked her down to return it.

As well as the Indian student’s UK visa, her purse also had her United Arab Emirates (UAE) ID, her UAE driving licence, health insurance details, credit card and over 1,000 AED (210 GBP) in cash, according to reports.

Local media said that student Raechel Rose left her purse in Modassar Khadim’s taxi on 4th January, several days before she was due to return to the UK on 8th January.

The corporate law student at Lancaster University was travelling to a friend’s birthday party when she left her purse in the Pakistani man’s taxi.

According to her mother Sindhu Biju, the student saw a group of friends in another car and decided to join them without realising that she had left her purse behind.

The Pakistani taxi driver finished two other trips before noticing the purse on the seat.

According to local media, he contacted the Roads and Transport Authority who verified the details with the report he lodged and the kindhearted cabbie dropped off the student’s purse at her residence so she could fly back to the UK.
