This is the moment a man in eastern China is knocked senseless when a huge truck wheel flies through the air and hits him in the head.

The bizarre accident took place as the victim – not named in local media -was collecting a takeaway in Tongling, Anhui Province on 4th January.

CCTV footage shows a man dressed in fluorescent overalls from a road repair crew coming out of the restaurant and walking down the steps.

But as he stops to chat with a colleague, a huge wheel tyre flies through the air at high speed and knocks him to the ground.

The wheel flies with such force that it goes on to shatter an air conditioning unit and bounces into an SUV, rocking it in its suspension.

As bystanders wait for an ambulance to arrive, the victim can be seen moving slowly as he lays face down on the stairs.

He was later reportedly taken to hospital where he was treated for head and upper body injuries.

Local media reported he is negotiating compensation with the truck driver’s insurers.

The road repair company told local media that the man who was hit was about 50 years old and that the accident is being investigated.
