This is the moment two rats ‘slug it out’ on their hind legs in the middle of a public park at night in an epic ‘boxing match’.

The incident was filmed at Plaza de Armas in the city of Copiaco in the northern Chilean region of Atacama and posted on YouTube where it has been viewed 66,000 times.

According to reports, two female pals saw the two rodents rucking and decided to film the unusual dispute, also sharing the clip on Facebook.

In the footage, the camerawoman approaches a litter bin in the park while giggling with a friend.

She zooms in on two rats slugging it out while standing up on their hind legs in front of the bin.

A woman is heard saying “look, look” and her friend replies “shut up, shut up” just as one rat knocks down its rival and starts to pummel it on the ground.

As the excited women laugh loudly, the fighting rats appear to get spooked and run off in different directions.

Netizen ‘Lore Davi Mazi’ said: “At least those two rats are resolving their differences face-to-face, unlike other rats such as thieves and politicians!”

‘Juan Gomez Urrutia’ commented: “It is a great fight, maybe it is over territory?”
