These are the shocking scenes after a Peugeot crashed into three camels on a busy road, killing two and leaving the driver in a serious condition.
The incident took place on a main road in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan on the afternoon of 1st August.
Three camels were standing at the start of Bandar Shahid Rajaei Road when the Peugeot 207 crashed into them.
Emergency workers on the scene said the accident cost the lives of two camels, and left the driver seriously injured.
The accident also caused a long tailback on the main road.
Online commentators pointed out that there had been numerous accidents in the area with camels and the local authorities seem to do little to keep them off the road.
The badly-injured driver was taken hospital and there have been no further updates on his condition. The driver’s name and age were not reported.
The authorities have not commented yet on the status of the investigation or on the allegations that not enough is being done to keep the camels off the road.
