Two Burglars Robbed By Gang Of Armed Gunmen On Mopeds

This is the bizarre moment two burglars who were trying to break into a house end up being robbed themselves by a gang of gun-wielding thieves on mopeds.

The incident occurred in the Colombian capital Bogota which has the highest level of street crime in the country, as demonstrated when the robbers were robbed at 2.55 am on Saturday, 18th September.

Local media used the bizarre footage to highlight just how dangerous the streets of Bogota have become, as not even criminals are safe from being robbed. Armed robbery in Bogota has been growing over the years and reached record levels in 2019, although it fell with the onset of the coronavirus restrictions. However, it is still among the highest in the country.

In the CCTV footage of the incident, the two alleged burglars can be seen walking up and down the street trying to pry open the windows and front doors of several houses.

They eventually managed to enter the hallway of one apartment block, but they were unable to get into any of the homes inside.

As the pair walk down the street examining the houses for potential weak spots, the gang on mopeds begins to drive towards them.

The gang surrounds the two men and forces them against the wall of one of the houses they had been inspecting as a potential target for a robbery.

Local media report that the two men were robbed at gunpoint by the gang.

Following the incident, all the suspects fled the scene.

A police investigation into the incident is ongoing and none of the suspects in the footage have been identified so far.
