The two tourists were in the large Champ-de-Mars park by the Eiffel Tower, after spending the evening with two men who bought them drinks at a bar, when one of them was allegedly raped in the early hours of Sunday morning, 5th February.

The elder of the two sisters, who have not been named, said that after spending the evening with the two men, they became separated and the man who she was with groped her bottom.

She said that she managed to get away and began looking for her younger sister.

She said that she eventually found her a bit further away in the park, lying in the grass with the man she had spent the evening with allegedly raping her with his trousers down.

The alleged rapist fled the scene when the elder sister arrived and jumped into a black car.

The two sisters then reportedly found police officers at approximately 5:30am on Sunday morning and were taken to a police station to give a statement.
