Meanwhile, both men escaped and are currently still on the run.

A police statement said: “Just after 9am, two men entered the bank at the Tysiaclecia housing estate in Katowice.

“Their faces were covered and they wore hoodies. With items resembling firearms, they terrorised bank workers and demanded money.

“After taking the cash, they fled.”

After being alerted by the bank’s staff, the police arrived on the scene and launched an investigation.

Reports said that they have interviewed witnesses and begun looking for the two suspects.

The police have released video footage of the robbery in the hope that someone will come forward with information leading to the suspects’ arrest.

If found guilty, the suspects reportedly face up to 12 years in prison.

Local police have not revealed how much money was stolen from the bank.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the robbery.
