Twins With Rare Disease Tell Others To Stay At Home

These five-year-old twin sisters who suffer from a rare genetic condition have shared a motivational video asking people to stay at home amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Spanish sisters named Carla and Noa shared the message on their YouTube channel ‘Leonas Sin Escudo’ (‘Lions Without Shield)’ encouraging netizens to be strong during the COVID-19 outbreak and stay at home.

The two sisters have spent four months in hospital as they suffer with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a series of rare genetic conditions that result in easy blistering of the skin and mucous membranes.

It is unclear which hospital in Spain they are being treated in.

In the footage, Noa says: “We have spent four months in hospital.”

Carla adds: “We do not complain.”

Noa says: “Do you complain about spending seven days at home?”

Carla then shouts: “Stay at home!”

The video clip has been viewed over 18,000 times on YouTube and has been widely shared on social networks.

As of 25th March, Spain has reported 47,610 confirmed cases of CVID-19 and 3,434 related deaths, according to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University.

Meanwhile, 5,367 patients in Spain have fully recovered from the virus.
