Twenty-Seven Stitches For Brickie After Pit Bull Attacks Him As He Walks Down Street

This bricklayer has had 27 stitches after a pit bull attacked him while he was walking down the street.

The incident was caught on camera and the footage shows that even spraying the animal with a fire extinguisher was not enough not prevent the savage attack.

The attack took place in the city of Hurlingham, which is located in Buenos Aires Province in eastern Argentina, on Friday, 28th January.

The victim, who has been named only as Nahuel, was shopping on Felipe Pastre Street after finishing a hard day’s work when he was attacked by the pit bull, which reportedly escaped its owner’s control.

The young man said: “It jumped a 1.2-metre (4-foot) wall, and it came at me. It gave me time to cross the street a bit and it attacked me, biting my left leg. If I hadn’t reacted and had stayed still, in the same jump it could have grabbed me by the head or neck.”

The footage shows a man spraying the pit bull, which appears to have its teeth sunk deep into the bricklayer’s flesh, with a fire extinguisher. However, this appears to have little effect.

Eventually, the pit bull lets go of the victim, who can be seen being helped by a burly man. The victim’s leg can be seen gushing blood as he struggles to stand.

Nahuel said: “They pulled it, but it didn’t let go. They tried with water, by putting a broomstick in its mouth, but neither worked. A man got out of a vehicle to spray it with a fire extinguisher and that did not work either.”

As a result of the attack, the young man required 27 stitches to his leg and suffered a damaged calf muscle. The young man also said: “This is not the first time the dog has attacked someone, the neighbours say it has bitten someone before.”
