Turkish Trans Womans Boyfriend Arrested After He Allegedly Threw Her From Her Fifth Floor Apartment

A Turkish trans woman’s boyfriend has been arrested after he allegedly threw her out of the window of her fifth-floor apartment following a violent argument.

Nefes Balkan, 28, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Tunahan T., age not disclosed, in the neighbourhood of Omeraga in the district of Izmit in the Turkish province of Kocaeli on Wednesday, 6th October.

Tunahan T., maintains he is innocent, claiming Nefes threw herself from her apartment even though he did everything he could to stop her.

After being arrested, Tunahan T., told the police that he had had an argument with Nefes while both of them were high on drugs.

Local media report that he told the police: “I had a fight with Nefes on the night of the incident. She then tried to throw herself out of the window, and I prevented her from doing so.”

He added: “We then continued to argue. She then ran to the window all of a sudden, and I couldn’t help her that time.”

Nefes fell five floors and hit the concrete below. Witnesses called the emergency services.

She was transferred to the Kocaeli State Hospital where she died the same day.

The cops later searched the house and found clear signs of a struggle with broken objects strewn across the flat.

Nefes was buried in her hometown of Tekirdag. The cause of her death will be revealed following the autopsy.
