This is the moment a Turkish security guard decides to scare away a stray dog by boiling the kettle, carrying it out onto the street and pouring it over the trusting dog.
Mehmet Emin Koskeroglu, a 22-year-old security guard, was detained by Turkish authorities after the horrific injuries that the dog had suffered.
They then found that he had poured boiling water over the stray dog living in the neighbourhood of Esentepe in the district of Cukurova in the Turkish province of Adana last Sunday (22nd August).

In the footage, captured by a security camera, Koskeroglu can be seen sat in his office when the stray dog catches his eye through the window.
He puts the kettle on to boil then heads out towards the dog with the water in the kettle still scolding hot.
The 22-year-old man then empties the boiling hot water all over the dog which jumps to its feet in shock and runs away licking its painful wounds and clearly in agony.

The news site Sabah reports that the dog’s injuries were later noticed by locals who take care of the stray dog, which often hangs out in the neighbourhood begging for food.
The concerned locals took the dog to the vet for treatment and then tracked down the perpetrator of the attack.
They got the manager of the building complex where Koskeroglu works to review the security camera footage which revealed that his employee was responsible for the dog’s injuries.

The authorities were notified and the Nature, Environment and Animal Protection Bureau teams of Adana Security Directorate Public Security Branch arrested Koseroglu.
Sabah reports that the suspect told police he burnt the dog because he had previously been attacked by stray dogs on his way to work.
He has reportedly said that he feels terrible for what he did and wishes to take it back.

The suspect has been released on bail and is facing charges of animal cruelty.
