One of Russia’s fastest-growing influencers who live-streamed her sex-change surgery has been attacked by trolls who said she looked worse afterwards and claiming a nerve damaged in her face during the procedure has left her with a lopsided look.

Maxim Matveyev, 20, known as Daria Koreika, who recently had her sex-change operation and streamed it online, shared several videos on Tiktok from a hospital room before and after her operation to physically become a woman, which notched up around 15 million views.

Daria shared all the details of the operation on her page, complaining about how she was suffering mentally and physically, but she received very little sympathy from the many people who followed what was going on.

Many commented that her face in particular had not changed, or if it had, they said that it was for the worse.

They also said that Daria’s face has become asymmetrical, and her eye and eyebrow have significantly been raised, forcing her to defend herself by pointing out that she suffered from oedema in her face.

She also said a nerve was damaged, causing one of her eyebrows to lift.

Daria, who said she had expected more encouragement from her followers, continues to share videos on social media regarding her healing and gender reassignment process.

The social media star just began streaming in March this year and instantly gained a significant audience on Tiktok, with over 5.8 million followers.

In an interview with Starhit, Daria said: “I am from a small village. There, the way I dressed and looked seemed abnormal. My parents constantly told me that something was wrong with me. I was bullied a lot. At school, I was once completely beaten near the toilet. No one stood up for me.”

After moving to Moscow, it became easier for Daria to live and express herself. However, even when millions of people have subscribed to her on social networks, it is difficult for her to find friends since many other influencers simply refuse to communicate with her and even mock her.

She said: “I don’t have a manager, practically nobody helps me. I don’t even know who to ask for advice. I am completely engaged in everything by myself. They would probably deceive me.”

Daria added that she hopes to become the most influential streamer in Russia.
