Just as he turns his head to say something, a huge tree crashes through the windscreen and the driver manages to keep calm and bring the vehicle to a smooth stop.
Plepel then appears to reassure a spooked elderly woman before dusting himself off and going to check on the other passengers.
After the accident, he told local media: “It was like a bomb going off. It was lucky that everything was all right. There were four or five passengers and no one was hurt.”
Firefighter arrived on the scene and removed the tree, reportedly 15 to 20 metres (49 to 66 feet tall.
An eyewitness told local media: “I saw the tree falling on the bus and it was really scary. It would have probably killed someone if it hit a car.”
It is currently unclear how the tree was felled and if the matter is being investigated.
Netizen ‘Psilaju’ commented: “Well done, he is a real driver.”
‘Dominatoros’ said: “The guy was tops.”
‘Geodeta2394’ wrote: “Congratulations to the driver, for me he is a hero for staying calm.”
