This is the moment the emergency services attend a huge sinkhole which appeared on a road bridge in northern Ukraine.

Fortunately no one was injured in the partial collapse that reportedly affected travel services in the area of Kharkiv located in the north-western Ukrainian region of Kharkiv Oblast.

At the moment, it is unclear what caused the bridge, which links the Losk Market area with the village of Pesochin, to partially collapse although the local authorities are currently investigating the matter.

A local police spokesperson said: “The incident was reported at 8.46am, with one side of the bridge, connecting Losk Market with the village of Pesochin, having collapsed. Police department heads immediately left to inspect the scene.”

The incident caused major traffic disruption although reports did not mention whether train services were affected by the bridge collapse, which took place over railway lines.

The authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the incident and that the investigation is ongoing.

In the video footage, a large queue of cars is seen in front of the massive sinkhole as firefighters and police attend the scene.

Concrete and debris are visible on the embankment although no obstacles appear to have fallen onto the train lines.
