A mum on trial for sexually abusing her baby son so badly that surgeons had to fit him with an artificial anus claims the tot’s dad inflicted the injuries after she refused sex.
Both of the baby’s parents, 26-year-old Nina R. and 24-year-old Ismail S. from Ludwigshafen, are currently on trial for GBH and sexual abuse charges at the regional court in Frankenthal, a city in the south-western German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, the two jointly abused their baby newborn son Mika who at the time of the abuse was just seven weeks old.

The indictment reads: “At the time of the crime, on October 14th to 15th 2018, the defendant anally introduced a moving object at least ten centimetres deep into her son in order to gain sexual arousal at the couple’s flat.
“The father pinched off the baby’s penis, inflicting a bleeding wound onto it.”
In court, Nina R. had her lawyer Sven Zill read out a statement which placed most of the blame on her boyfriend.

Zill said: “She was completely overwhelmed with the child, but does not want to escape from responsibility. My client confesses to having harmed the child.”
According to Nina R., her boyfriend came home completely drunk in an “aggressive” mood and “wanted sex” with her.
She says she refused and ordered Ismail S. to measure Mika’s body temperature with a thermometer.
She accused him of injuring the child “in anger” out of having been refused sex with her.
Nina R. said in her statement that the baby’s penis injuries were probably caused by the fact that Ismail S. demanded a circumcision, which she rejected.
She added that in general, Ismail S. “roughly handled Mika”.
Nina R. said that she was not aware of the severe injuries of her child and that she is sure they were not caused by sexual abuse.
Ismail S. has so far remained silent about the allegations in court.
The couple were caught when they took the baby to a hospital where doctors detected severe peritonitis, the inflammation of the peritoneum typically caused by the rupture of an abdominal organ.
Shocked medics also found the baby was suffering from a skull injury, a cerebral haemorrhage, fractured ribs, bruising to the lungs and heart, and bleeding from the eyes. They also suspected that the tot had suffered older fractures.
According to local media, the baby required emergency surgery and an artificial anus as a result of the horrific injuries.
Chief prosecutor Hubert Stroeber said: “Even professionals in my public prosecutor’s office were shocked.”
The little boy, who is now seven months old, is currently living with a foster family.
The trial is continuing.
