This is the moment a quick-thinking dad and his daughter narrowly dodge a fully-intact window which fell from 17 storeys up and crashed to the ground.

The heart-stopping moment was captured on CCTV inside the Longjun Gardens gated community in the city of Shenzhen in South China’s Guangdong Province on 23rd March.

In the video, the parent and his toddler are seen taking a walk in the residential district when the dad suddenly looks up.

He grabs his daughter and sprints forwards just moments before the windowpane and frame come crashing down behind them, with the glass shattering on impact.

According to management staff inside the gated community, the accident happened when an elderly resident living on the 17th floor pushed his window open to let in some fresh air.

The window came off its hinges and plunged down the side of residential block A8, but the resident was able to warn those below as the glass pane fell, staff revealed.

Fortunately, neither the parent nor his child was injured during the incident.

According to reports, the gated community is now carrying out inspections of all its high-rise tower blocks.

The cluster comprising block A8 and others was built in 2008, reports said.
