Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Michigan, said the schoolboy had compiled a hit list of all the children “who were mean to him and called him names”.

Then – on 29th November – he took a knife to Prevail Academy in Mt. Clemens and asked another student to hold down one of his targets so he could stab him.

But the student – identity withheld – saved the day by taking the knife away from the boy and handing it to an adult when he was collected from school.

MCPO said in a statement: “The juvenile was charged with solicitation of assault with a dangerous weapon (4 year felony), and having a weapon in a weapon-free school (93 day misdemeanor).

“On Wednesday, November 30, 2022 he was arraigned by Referee Linda Harrison and given a $500 personal bond.

“Upon release he will have a GPS tether and be under house arrest. He may only leave the house for medical, school or court purposes.

“The defendant is to have no possession of controlled substances or weapons, and no contact with the witness or anyone on his hit list.”

Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said: “The juvenile who gave the knife to an adult is a hero. He saw something and said something which saved lives.”
