This is the moment a hungry cat carefully observes a little mouse that seems keen on escaping by rolling away sideways in front of her.

The video was recorded in the city of Jieyang in the Chinese province of Guangdong.

In the video, the cat can be seen calmly observing the mouse that rolls in a circle on the floor right in front of her.

Although baffled the cat is determined not to let the mouse put too much distance between them.

According to reports, the cat caught the mouse outside and brought it home.

Cats often bring home treats for their owners although in this case the cat’s family said their pet did it in order to break the boredom of the day to day routine, and have something to play with before eating it.

The owner said the mouse ended up being eaten by the hungry cat some twenty minutes later.

The video gained a lot of comments on the social network Douyin, which is what TikTok is called in China, such as netizen ‘Doraemon’s detachment group (free)’ who said: “Cat: Mom, don’t leave me any food tonight. Mouse: Mom, don’t leave me any food in the future.”

While ‘a crazy language teacher’ wrote: “Big brother, look, I’ll show you a talent, the invincible windmill of Hot Wheels squeaks and turns.”

‘Yu Shirong’ joked: “Mouse: You can’t see me can’t see me can’t see me.”
