This is the swine-themed cafe where clients can enjoy coffee in the company of dozens of cute roaming piglets.
According to local media, the ‘Mipig Cafe’ opened in the ward of Meguro in the central-eastern Japanese capital Tokyo last spring and it has proved so popular that the owners are about to open a second branch next month.
While enjoying a coffee or snack, cute piglets run about and frolic among the tables, and customers pay an entrance fee depending on the amount of time they spend in the swine-themed venue.
For 30 minutes in Mipig Cafe, clients pay an entrance fee of 1,000 JPY (7 GBP) and have to order at least one drink or food option from the menu, according to reports.
According to the cafe’s website, there is no entrance fee for children under three years of age and there are regular promotions and family deals to take advantage of.
The Tokyo-based cafe is so popular, customers even need to reserve beforehand.
The venue’s success has even led to a new branch of Mipig Cafe opening in the Tokyo neighbourhood of Harajuku on 18th November, according to reports.
The cafe, which opens from 10am to 8pm, said on social media: “It is a precious opportunity for piglets to spend time with you.”
