This is the moment notorious female gang member ‘Hello Kitty’ gets her son to say how much he loves her shortly before being shot dead in a gunfight with Brazilian cops.
Rayane Nazareth Cardozo da Silveira, 20, dubbed ‘Hello Kitty’, was considered one of the most wanted criminals in Rio de Janeiro when she was shot in the head on the morning of 16th July.
She died together with her gangster mentor and godfather Alessandro Luiz Viera Moura during an operation by the Military Police.
In the video that lasts just a few seconds, Rayane is seen asking her son how much he loves her, and the child makes a point of repeating several times that he loves her very much.
The bodies of four killed gang members including Hello Kitty were later photographed in the back of a police van after the shootout.
There was also an image of her on the autopsy table with a horrific head injury after apparently being shot in the head.
Cardozo da Silveira was killed along with three other suspects at the shootout at Complexo do Salgueiro in the municipality of Sao Goncalo.
Hello Kitty was considered the second-in-command of the criminal organisation led by crime boss Alessandro Luiz Viera Moura, who was also killed at the scene.
Hello Kitty reportedly revered the crime boss, and even had a tattoo in his honour.
One of the other victims has been identified as Mikhael Wander Miranda Marins, the son of Pastor Vanderlei Batista Marins from the First Baptist Church of Alcantara. The name of the fourth victim has not yet been released.
Prior to her death, Hello Kitty was wanted in connection with a string of armed robberies and homicides in Rio de Janeiro.
The police arrived on the scene at around 6am after receiving information that a family was being held hostage.
A shootout took place and some local residents said they were unable to leave for work out of fear of being hit by stray bullets.
The police said Viera Moura headed the drug trade in the area of Salgueiro and Hello Kitty took care of the day-to-day running of the operation.
The police also said that Hello Kitty was a regular on the local night scene and liked to post photos of her posing with guns on social media.
The local authorities carried out a major operation to catch the two gang leaders two years ago, but they managed to escape and evade justice until now, according to the news site G1.
In one of the images shared online she is seen pregnant with her son, now four years old.
Footage has also surfaced on social media of her playing with her son shortly before the shootout with the cops.
Meanwhile, the police said they had uncovered numerous firearms at the scene and one of them was pink with a flowery pattern on it, presumed to be Hello Kitty’s.
The investigation continues.
