An evil aunt accused burying her butchered two-year-old niece’s body in a suitcase is being held by police in Brazil.

Tragic Lorena Ferreira Rodrigues’s remains were found in a shallow grave in her grandfather’s garden in the municipality of Autazes, in the northern Brazilian state of Amazonas, on Tuesday, 29th March.

Lorena had apparently been put in her aunt’s care while her mother was on a business trip and her dad was working.

But her 19-year-old aunt – Ana Beatriz Barbosa – has confessed to beating the tot brutally with her 31-year-old partner, Jhon Lenon Menezes Maia, to “correct” the child’s behaviour.

According to Lorena’s father, she went missing on Wednesday, 23rd March, which is the same day she is believed to have died from injuries from the savage beating.

Ana Beatriz and Jhon Lenon allegedly beat Lorena to death before her arms and legs were chopped off and the remains stuffed in a suitcase.

The couple then took Lorena’s dismembered body nearly 80 miles to Autazes, to her grandfather’s home.

It was reportedly the tot’s granddad who made the grim discovery as he cleaned his backyard.

Ana Beatriz was arrested and allegedly told police that Lorena’s mum had gone off with a man and had left the youngster in her care.

She reportedly admitted that she and her partner had “corrected” the youngster’s behaviour through the beating.

An autopsy report stated that Lorena had suffered a brain bleed, traumatic brain injury and blunt force trauma.

At the time of reporting, Ana Beatriz stood accused of concealing a corpse and remained in preventive custody.

Jhon Lenon was last reported to be on the run and was being sought by police.
