Police in Hong Kong have arrested two girls after a brutal video allegedly showed them kicking, punching and insulting another girl.

The shocking abuse that was filmed in a four-minute video was also being watched by other people who stand around and do nothing to intervene.

Even worse, towards the end of the video somebody appears to lean in and take a video or photos looking up the skirt of the victim.

Police refused to discuss details of the arrests but it is believed to be the two girls carrying out the attack, one of them wearing a red hoodie and the other in a black one.

They repeatedly demand that she apologise for creating a love triangle indicating that the row was apparently over a boy. The girl in the black hoodie repeatedly shakes the victim by her hair, and pushes her to the ground to demand an apology for the girl in red and another young woman in black.

The apology, however, brings no respite for the ordeal, with the woman in red refusing to accept the apology and saying: “We treated you like a sister, and you treat us like this?”

One of the girls can be heard repeatedly insulting the other as well as accusing her of being smelly and suggesting she is a drug user.

It was not revealed if police had tracked down the person that filmed it, reportedly a man who can be heard shouting “beef ball” which appears to be the nickname of the girl in the black hoodie.

The footage that was widely shared was universally condemned, with allegations it took place in the Hong Kong new territories region.

Local police have declined to comment further.
