Three Russians Pull 1000t Train In Guinness Record Bid

This is the moment three Russian strongmen pull a train weighing over 1,000 tonnes by crawling along the track – and they are working to have the feat recognised by Guinness World Records.

Mikhail Paler, Mikhail Ivanov and Alexei Savchenko – representatives of the Russian Strongmen Association – pulled the train weighing 1,080 tonnes (2,380,992 lbs) at a railway station in the city of Simferopol, the capital of the Republic of Crimea.

In the video, the three strongmen can be seen crawling along ladders laid down on the train tracks to pull the huge locomotive they are strapped to.

Onlookers urge them on as slowly pulls the train along the tracks.

According to the local media, the three men broke the Russian record for most weight moved – shifting the train including two locomotives, one electric locomotive and 12 wagons a distance of 9.1 metres (29.85 feet).

the head coach of the Russian national extreme power team, Vasily Grischenko said: “At the moment this is an absolute record.

“The Russian Association of strongmen will present this record to the Guinness World Records for the record to be recognised as a world record. As far as we know there were no such attempts registered in the world so we’ll proceed with the registration.”

Local media report the attempt came as part of the opening of the railway on the Crimean Bridge with the first train travelling from Moscow to Simferopol arriving yesterday (26th December).
