The Rolex Gang Targeted Footballers And Rappers

Members of the Rolex Gang on trial in the Netherlands targeted millionaire footballers and rap musicians in Amsterdam hotspots, according to recordings gathered by police during an investigation.

During the ongoing trial, the court heard how the members of the Rolex Gang drove around Amsterdam in search of potential targets, and they focused in particular on popular restaurants and nightclubs where the wealthy targets were most likely to be.

The defendants, identified as Mourad B., 29, Mounir C., 25, Oussama A., 20, and a juvenile suspect, are accused of robbing female victim Estelle Cruijff on 4th November 2018.

She was violently robbed of her Rolex Yacht-Master watch after visiting the nightclub Mad Fox.

Well-known businessman Rene van Dam was robbed in Apollolaan on 20th February 2019.

He sustained broken teeth and multiple skull fractures in the attack.

In a statement read by a friend, Van Dam said that his life had been “forever changed” by the robbery.

Although the perpetrators admitted and regretted the robbery, Van Dam’s Rolex has not been returned to this day.

In a series of private conversations in a car that was recorded by the police, the Rolex Gang were heard discussing the Dutch rapper Lil ‘Kleine as he walked to a city nightspot.

They were also recorded discussing several famous footballers, such as Ajax captain Dusan Tadic, Steven Bergwijn who now plays for Tottenham Hotspur, and former Ajax striker Siem de Jong as potential targets.

It was not revealed how far they were in their plans to rob the footballers and the case continues.
