A young woman from southern China stunned netizens after sharing a video of herself grasping and holding a water bottle with the back of her hand.
Ms Li, from the city of Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, said she only learned she was double-jointed on 27th November.
A friend had been showing her videos of other people performing strange skits with their extremely flexible hands.
Ms Li tried to imitate them by attempting to grab a water bottle with the back of her hand and was shocked to learn she could do it easily.

Her friend filmed the unexpected discovery, and the video was later shared on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, with the caption: “New skills unlocked.”
Ms Li shared that she could barely feel the painful-looking backward bend of her palm, and it did not feel uncomfortable at all.
Netizens were stunned by her flexibility, and most of them suggested she should have her condition checked by a doctor.
User ‘Shuanghua’ called it “a bit powerful, but also a bit scary.”

And user ‘L.S.’ said: “I tried it and now I’m looking at it at the orthopaedic hospital.”
Meanwhile, user ‘tropical fish that can’t swim’ jokingly implied how she could make use of her skill: “The police searched for a long time, but they couldn’t find any fingerprints.”
