This footage shows a tiny spider inside a woman’s ear canal suddenly scurrying towards a miniature camera held by a doctor trying to remove the creepy crawly.

The incident took place when the woman, named only as Yi in local media reports but who is from the city of Zhuzhou, which is located in southern China’s Hunan Province, went to the hospital on Monday 18th October after the spider reportedly spent the whole night inside her ear canal.

The woman had been on an outing and on the evening of 17th October, she felt discomfort in her ear and a noise.

She went to the hospital after the itching became too much for her to bear and the doctor found a spider crawling around “on the surface of the tympanic membrane” of the woman’s ear, according to local media outlet Beijing News.

The footage shows the tiny spider scurrying around inside the woman’s ear canal. After a few seconds, it scurries towards the camera and as a result appears much larger.

The doctor, who has not been named, was able to remove the spider using an electric otoscope, which is a device used by doctors to look inside people’s ears.
