A Turkish schoolgirl and her mum have been arrested by cops in Turkey after they admitted to killing her abusive dad and burning his body in a stove to a TV host.

Police speaking to local media confirmed the arrests and also confirm that the 52-year-old father, Abdul Akbiyik, had been missing since 18th January.

The family are from the western province of Afyonkarahisar and ended up on the show after the man’s son asked the journalist and TV personality Muge Anli to try and help solve the mystery.

The presenter then quizzed the family members live on her show on private broadcaster ATV with both mother and her schoolgirl daughter appearing on Valentine’s Day to be questioned.

The mother Kiymet Akbiyik however was increasingly nervous as the questioning progressed, and eventually asked for a private chat with the TV host where the truth was revealed.

The TV presenter said: “After the program, she came to me with her elder daughter, who is a beautiful high school student girl. They revealed that the girl had killed her father that night.”

She added: “They told me that the man came home late drunk and forced his wife sign a legal document by beating her. The girl thought that her mother would be killed, so she grabbed his pistol and shot her father.”

They said they had then burned the body in a stove.

After the shock confession which the TV host described as the hardest story of her career the police arrested the pair.
