Teen Who Hacked Family To Death With Axe For GBP 100 Avoids Prison Due To Mental Disorder

A 16-year-old schoolboy who hacked his parents and younger sister to death with an axe for GBP 100 quid has avoided a prison sentence after he was diagnosed with a mental health condition.

The teen, name not disclosed, allegedly killed his whole family with an axe in the Russian village of Oktyabrsky on 1st March this year.

The Local news site Vesti said the teen hacked his 43-year-old mother to death and then did the same to his 41-year old father.

Afterwards, he took his parent’s phone and transferred RUB 10,000 (98 GBP) to himself through their banking app.

The teen then sat down and waited for the final member of his family, his 12-year-old sister, to walk through the door.

The moment she entered, the teen once again reached for his axe and hacked her to death, according to reports.

All three victims died from their injuries before the emergency services arrived.

The suspect was detained days after the incident and admitted his guilt to the police, claiming he killed his parents because they were pressuring him too much about his school work. No motive was reported for the murder of his sister.

According to local media, a psychiatric examination was carried out which concluded that the schoolboy was insane.

The Russian Investigative Committee wrote in a statement:”The boy was not able to grasp what he had actually done due to a chronic mental disorder.”

Following the result of the psychiatric examination, it was decided that the boy would be sent for compulsory treatment and not prison. The duration of his treatment has not yet been determined.
