A pretty teenager who beat cancer as a young girl has shared a moving ’10 Year Challenge’ post on social media that has been liked hundreds of thousands of times.

Camila Rivadavia, 19, who lives in the city of Mar del Plata in the eastern Argentine, shared the before-and-after photos on Twitter were they have received 262,000 likes and been retweeted 26,300 times.

This plucky teen’s post also made headlines in local media and showed the recovered cancer sufferer as a bald eight-year-old compared to how she looks today after beating the disease.

Alongside the snap of her as a young cancer patient, Rivadavia wrote: “I do not look very happy, but…”

“When I noticed that people were sharing my posts, I thought about saying something but in the end I didn’t. The truth is there was a time when I wanted to delete all of that stuff out of fear of being treated like a victim.”

She added: “A lot of people who know me are not aware of my story.

“I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and went through two years of hospital treatment.

“I had a year of chemotherapy and then I went on tablets. The treatment was too much because as well as getting rid of the bad, it also removed a lot of the good.

“I would like everybody to know that this disease can be beaten.”

She thanked netizens for their loving support, saying: “Thanks a lot for all the beautiful messages. It is impossible to answer every one, but believe me I read them all. I love being able to provide a message of hope for everyone.”
