Teen Walks Home With Knife In Skull And Survives

This image shows a blade sticking out from the skull of a teenager who was stabbed in the head in a street attack but survived after walking home with the knife still lodged inside him.

The shocking incident occurred in the city of Santa Maria in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul when the unnamed 19-year-old was walking down the street near Rosario Square.

Local media report he was attacked with a knife, with the aggressor driving the blade into the top of his skull. He reportedly did not see the attacker who fled and he then walked home with the blade protruding from his skull.

His family saw the blade and called the authorities, with the teenager being taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the University Hospital of Santa Maria in an ambulance.

The image shows the teenager’s head wrapped in bandages with the blade protruding from his skull. Reports state it was removed and he remains in the ICU of the hospital recovering. The hospital described his condition has “serious”.

The Civil Police Homicide and Personal Protection Division are investigating the case and no arrests have been reported. No motive has been provided for the crime.
