This is the moment a 16-year-old boy takes on almost a dozen mostly older opponents in a street fight before being punched unconscious.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera on Anatuya Street in the city of Santiago del Estero in the northern Argentine province of the same name.

Local media said the victim, who has been named as Juan Coria, was set upon by a group of 11 aged between 15 and 17 years of age.

In the CCTV footage, the heavyset victim in white shorts is seen being punched in the face by one teen.

Coria walks through the group to hit the boy back, but is punched again by the aggressor and several of his pals.

Despite valiantly trying to fight back against the pack, he is eventually punched to the ground and appears unconscious.

Two boys kick him on the ground before several people walk over to help.

At the end of the video, four cops are seen walking towards the departing group of teens.

According to reports, the police officers caught up with the gang and they were arrested before later being released.

Meanwhile, the 16-year-old victim is reportedly in a stable condition in hospital.

His mother Maria Nieva told local media that he is recovering well.

She said the fight started because the aggressors insulted one of his friends, adding: “He rowed with them while defending him (his friend) and then he was attacked.”

Florencia Garzon, the prosecutor investigating the case, confirmed that all the suspects have been identified and instructed to not approach the victim as the investigation continues.
