A Turkish teen murdered his six years older lover with whom he had two children by shooting her in the chest at point-blank range after accusing her of only being with him for his money.

The alleged killer, identified only as Seyfullah K., 18, has been arrested and accused of shooting his partner of 18-months with whom he had two children at the home they shared in the district of Selcuklu in the Turkish city of Konya at around 3am on 16th November.

The emergency services arrived on the scene and found the victim, Elif Yakin, 24, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

She was taken to the Selcuk University Medical Faculty Hospital by ambulance, but later succumbed to her injuries.

The local authorities identified the victim’s partner as a possible suspect and arrested the teen. Officers also seized a gun which is believed to be the murder weapon.

Seyfullah K. is quoted as telling the cops: “I first met Elif 18 months ago and a relationship quickly formed. I paid her bills and maintained her home.”

He said on the day of the killing, he had called to meet her because they had a row earlier in the day and he wanted to make up.

He said: “She insulted me while we were talking at the meeting place. I told her that she was only with me for my money and that she did not really love me.

“I then reached for the gun and shot her. I drove away from the scene in my car.”

A police investigation on allegations of femicide is still ongoing.
