Teen Schoolgirl Electrocuted In Bath By Phone Charger

A 15-year-old schoolgirl has been found dead in her bath after apparently electrocuting herself with her phone charger.

The tragic accident happened in the 8th Arrondissement of the southern French city of Marseille, in the department of Bouches-du-Rhone on Sunday. It was only however only reported in French media today.

Rescuers called to the scene took the girls body to the emergencies at the Timone hospital in Marseille and tried to resuscitate her but to no avail, a local police spokesperson told local media.

The teenage girl reportedly died of cardio-respiratory failure as a result of an electrocution.

She had reportedly been in her bath with her smartphone on charger when it reportedly fell onto her chest and slipped into the water.

An investigation is currently ongoing to determine the exact cause of death. It was not revealed what make or model of phone was being charged.

The magazine Closer have reported that the girl’s first name is Tiffenn.

According to local media, the schoolgirl’s tragic death has provoked a “wave of emotion” on social media.

BFMTV report that 40 people die electrocuted every year in France with 3,000 being injured.
