Teen Left Bald After Birthday Salon Session For Her Quinceanera Party Is Given Fab New Look

The teenager who claimed she nearly went bald after having her locks coloured at a salon for her Quinceanera birthday party has flaunted her new look after a hairstylist stepped in to save the day.

Teen Sheila Rivas, from the city of Lanus in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires, was looking forward to her 15th birthday party, a big celebration in Latin America known as a quinceanera that is usually accompanied by important rituals welcoming the birthday girl into womanhood, when disaster struck.

What was supposed to be a quick stop to the hairdressers to have colour added to her roots quickly turned into a nightmare for Sheila, who said that when the hairdresser started rinsing her hair, it all fell out.

Sheila, who is reportedly an avid figure skater, claims the hairdresser was negligent, adding: “I couldn’t believe it, I saw my hair everywhere. She was throwing my hair in a rubbish bin and didn’t tell me anything. She didn’t want me to send messages to my mum.”

She added that the hairdresser, who has not been named, turned the radio up to make it difficult for the teenager to call her mother.

The girl’s mother Veronica Rose said: “She had her for over an hour and a half when she always leaves after 40 minutes.

“When she went to rinse her in the sink, she lost all her hair.”

The family said they tried to file a complaint with the local police station, but they were referred to petitioning the civil courts for damages. It is not thought that the police are investigating the incident.

Another hairstylist heard about the viral incident and offered to help the distraught teen.

After first boasting a trendy crop hairdo that was replaced with extensions, Sheila said with a smile: “My soul has returned to my body!

“It’s a huge change, I look like I did before, brunette… I love what they did for me.

“When they did the extensions, I couldn’t believe it because it was me again.

According to Sheila, the saviour hairdresser, name not reported, works with many people with alopecia and cancer and they reached out to her when they were moved by her story.
