Teen, 19, Stabbed To Death By Ex, 23, Who She Earlier Saved From Suicide

A teenage girl has been stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend just days after she saved him from committing suicide.

Student Alessandra da Costa Pereira, 19, was stabbed to death at the door of her home in the south-eastern Brazilian municipality of Aracariguama on 15th March.

Rafael Siqueira da Silva Araujo, 23, stabbed the victim 10 times in the chest, abdomen, left arm, leg, hand and back, and also wounded her mother, who was rushed to A&E and is currently stable.

The couple’s relationship had ended three months prior to the attack, and Rafael had repeatedly tried to rekindle it in the period that followed.

A few days before the crime, he had climbed up to a precipice in the municipality and made a phone call to Alessandra, threatening to throw himself to his death.

Alessandra rushed to the scene and managed to talk him out of it. Rafael was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

On the afternoon of the crime, Rafael went to his ex-girlfriend’s house with a bouquet of flowers and asked her at the door to take him back.

When she refused, he attacked her with a knife he was carrying. Her mother realised what was going on and tried to break up the attack, but suffered a wound to the hand.

Alessandra was badly injured in the attack and was rushed to receive medical treatment, but she sadly succumbed to her wounds.

The suspect fled the scene carrying the murder weapon and he is currently the target of a police manhunt.
