A literature schoolteacher has made this series of funny scenes with potatoes that include Greta Thunberg, Harry Potter and King Leonidas from ‘300’.

Belarusian teacher Valentin Boyko, 35, enjoys creating scenes with spuds when he is not teaching literature at a local school, and his works of art include celebrities, historical figures and characters from film and literature.

According to local media, Valentin uses potatoes, play dough and everyday items to construct his amusing scenes.

Included in his potato-portfolio are 16-year-old Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who was recently named Time magazine’s person of the year.

He has also constructed scenes featuring 20th century icons Albert Einstein and Marilyn Monroe as well as the Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali and his signature melting watch.

One amusing spud was made to look like Gerard Butler’s portrayal of the Spartan warrior king Leonidas I as featured in the 2006 hit movie ‘300’.

In addition, Valentin has also created scenes with much-loved fictional characters such as Harry Potter, Pennywise and Batman.

He also recreated Eduard Munch’s famous painting Scream as well as a potato-version of the Statue of Liberty.

Valentin said that potato figure-making is only a hobby for him, adding that he hopes Belarusian spuds become internally recognised for their excellent quality.

Netizen ‘Yurli2085’ said: “You are doing a remarkable job.”

‘KatherineGlaz’ commented: “This is what potato beauty looks like.”

‘Elenaboretskaia’ wrote: “I think the Harry Potter spud looks a lot like the real one!”
