A Coldplay super fan tattooed a tour date on his arm, only for the gig to be postponed.

Coldplay fanatic Vanderley Vieira had planned to make the more-than-two-day-long coach trip from Fortaleza, Ceara State, north-eastern Brazil to Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo State, south-eastern Brazil to see his favourite band perform on 15th October.

He was so excited for the date that he decided to get “Coldplay 15.10.22” tattooed on what appears to be his arm, near the wrist.

But he was left devastated when his favourite band postponed its Brazil tour due to singer Chris Martin developing a serious lung infection.

Vanderley took to social media to post a snap of the inking along with a message reading: “Ticket purchased, hotel booked and tattoo done = show postponed, what did I do to deserve this? #Coldplay”

He accompanied the message with a smiling-face-with-tear emoji.

The post racked up thousands of ‘likes’, despite Vanderley’s modest 13 followers.

It also garnered numerous comments from baffled netizens, such as ‘Rafael’ (@oxenterocha), who offered the sage advice: “First you have to live the moment, then you immortalise it.”

Social media user @lukavie sympathised with Vanderley’s plight, writing: “Me too, friend, I was going to the show on the 11th. Tickets bought and hotel booked and everything.”

Vanderley replied: “Can’t catch a break. My ticket is from Fortaleza, it was dirt cheap, ha ha. Now I’ll have to go, even if it’s just to go for a walk.”
